Job Overview

The Porter is tasked with maintaining cleanliness and safety throughout the warehouse to ensure a hazard-free environment for both customers and staff. Responsibilities include addressing spills and hazards promptly and maintaining thorough sanitation and cleaning logs daily. The role also requires adherence to company HACCP safety standards regarding cleaning equipment and may include light maintenance tasks as assigned by management.

Key Responsibilities

• Sweep interior and exterior building areas routinely to ensure cleanliness.
• Maintain and clean all restrooms within the facility.
• Clean windows, doors, and designated coffee areas as necessary.
• Manage and empty trash containers across the premises effectively.
• Operate equipment such as trash compactors, cardboard balers, and floor scrubbers when required.
• Promptly clean up any spills occurring in the warehouse to maintain safety.
• Clean the employee break room according to scheduled intervals.
• Support department managers with aisle cleaning tasks as needed.
• Verify and maintain HACCP guidelines compliance and sanitation logs as specified.
• Perform additional duties assigned by management including minor upkeep such as painting touch-ups and lighting maintenance.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Possess effective communication skills.
• Have a fundamental understanding of sanitation standards.
• Familiarity with operating floor machines, balers, and compactors is beneficial.
• Physical capability to lift up to 50 pounds is required.
