Role Responsibilities

• Support the Superintendent with any needed repairs.
• Conduct minor electrical fixes on appliances, lighting fixtures, switches, outlets, and circuits.
• Carry out routine cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, window cleaning, and trash disposal.
• Handle groundwork duties as required.
• Perform other tasks as assigned by management.
• Be available for extra or overtime hours based on operational demands.

Qualifications and Skills

• At least two years of experience in building maintenance.
• Fluency in English is mandatory; knowledge of an additional language is advantageous.
• Possession of a valid driver's license from the state of residence preferred, with fewer than three points accumulated over the past three years.
• Strong maintenance capabilities.
• Ability to successfully pass a physical skills assessment.
• Effective communication and organizational skills to coordinate with multiple agency staff members.

Physical Requirements

• Capability to climb and stand on ladders up to 15 feet high.
• Strength to lift, pull, push, or move objects weighing at least 50 pounds.
• Endurance to stand, walk, crouch, or sit for extended durations.
• Ability to climb five flights of stairs.
• Flexibility to bend and retrieve items.
• Willingness to travel within New York City boroughs and adjacent counties using public transportation.
• Capability to travel a minimum distance of one mile under various weather conditions, including inclement weather.
• Compliance with a Tuberculosis test within 120 days of employment, specifically for shelter and homeless outreach roles.
