Role Overview

The Pool Technician role involves routine upkeep and management of all swimming pools, spas, and their associated machinery. The technician ensures the pools maintain water quality, adhere to safety standards, and cleanliness to provide an excellent guest experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Regularly monitor and adjust pool water chemistry, testing pH, chlorine, and other chemicals to comply with health guidelines.
  • Conduct daily inspections of pools, spas, and nearby areas to ensure safety, cleanliness, and operational status.
  • Clean pools and related facilities, including vacuuming, skimming surfaces, brushing surfaces, and maintaining pool decks.
  • Perform maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on pool equipment, including pumps, filters, heaters, chlorinators, and dosing devices.
  • Keep detailed records of water testing, maintenance work, and chemical consumption.
  • Address guest or management concerns about pool areas swiftly and effectively.
  • Observe all safety protocols and comply with local health regulations and hotel policies.
  • Collaborate with Engineering and Housekeeping teams to ensure the upkeep and cleanliness of pool facilities.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent certification.
  • Certification in pool operations such as Certified Pool Operator (CPO) is desirable.
  • Fundamental understanding of pool equipment, water chemistry, and sanitation standards.
  • Previous professional experience in pool maintenance or a related hospitality/recreation role is advantageous.
  • Capable of working independently with strong attention to detail.
  • Basic English communication skills are required.
