Work Schedule

Shift rotations cover days, evenings, nights, and weekends with 8 to 10-hour shifts. Please note, these details are subject to change by the hospital.

Core Requirements

• Completion of a Bachelor’s degree or diploma in health sciences or a related field from an accredited institution.
• Certification as a Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) by the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists (BRPT), or commitment to achieve certification within 18 months (uncertified new hires will start at 95% of entry-level salary until certified).
• Current certification as a Health Care Professional recognized by BRPT.
• Practical knowledge of electrodiagnostic instruments, polysomnographic equipment, and related supplies.
• Familiarity with software applications including word processing, spreadsheets, and databases.
• Strong understanding of human anatomy, neuroanatomy, physiology, and basic electronics.
• Eligibility for CPR and/or First Aid certification.
• Effective written and verbal communication abilities.
• Good interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
• Legal eligibility to work in Canada.

Preferred Qualifications

• Advanced proficiency in both English and French (level 4) for oral and comprehension skills as defined by TOH’s five-level language proficiency framework, reflecting the bilingual nature of patient care responsibilities.
