Role Overview

The position centers on managing policies that ensure trust and safety for millions of users while maintaining a frictionless user experience. This includes cross-team collaboration with Legal, Product, Customer Service, Privacy, Fraud, Moderation, Analytics, and Marketing. Reporting to the Director of Customer Service, this role is based primarily at the Berlin-Charlottenburg office with hybrid working flexibility.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the entire lifecycle of Kleinanzeigen's Trust and Safety policies—development, execution, maintenance, governance, and decommission.
• Create clear, practical marketplace policies and operational directives that equitably balance user experience, platform security, legal compliance, and business goals.
• Collaborate closely with various departments including Product, Legal, Privacy, Customer Service, Fraud, Moderation, Analytics, and Marketing, ensuring alignment regarding new product launches, policy interpretation, and ambiguities.
• Interpret and apply new legal and regulatory requirements such as the Digital Services Act (DSA) and privacy legislation into actionable policies and enforcement mechanisms.
• Oversee policy governance processes: reviews, approvals, documentation, communication, and repository management for policies and enforcement standards.
• Monitor evolving marketplace risks, consumer expectations, and legal developments to refine and maintain consistent policy application throughout the organization.

Candidate Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years' experience in Trust & Safety, Policy Management, Risk, Compliance, Marketplace Operations, or related fields with a preference for digital platform or marketplace backgrounds.
• Proven ability to translate complex legislative, regulatory, and business demands into straightforward, scalable operational policies.
• Strong strategic thinking complemented by excellent stakeholder engagement and collaborative skills across multidisciplinary teams.
• Competence in handling ambiguity, balancing safety, risk, regulation, and user satisfaction, making sound judgments in a dynamic setting.
• Fluency in German and English with outstanding communication skills to clearly convey complex subjects to various stakeholders.
