PLC Automation Engineer

About the Company and Role

Dinesh Electrical Engineering is seeking a capable and driven PLC Automation Engineer based at Rabale, Navi Mumbai. This full-time role demands expertise in designing, programming, testing, and commissioning PLC automation systems tailored for industrial environments such as furnaces, steel manufacturing plants, and other process industries.

Job Responsibilities

• Create, program, and debug PLC systems primarily using Siemens and Schneider platforms.
• Develop industrial automation interfaces including HMI and SCADA applications.
• Prepare comprehensive technical documentation such as PLC logic, control narratives, I/O lists, and functional descriptions.
• Work with various automation hardware including VFDs, soft starters, motors, sensors, and transmitters.
• Design electrical control logic encompassing interlocks, operational sequences, and alarm systems.
• Conduct thorough PLC panel testing including Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and Site Acceptance Tests (SAT).
• Participate in on-site commissioning, troubleshooting, and provide ongoing automation-related technical service.
• Collaborate closely with electrical design and panel fabrication teams to ensure smooth automation integration.
• Interface PLCs with industrial network protocols and other connected devices.
• Deliver technical assistance and resolve automation issues at client locations.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronics, or Instrumentation Engineering.
• Between two and five years of hands-on experience in PLC programming and industrial automation projects.
• Expertise in Siemens PLCs, specifically the S7-1200 and S7-1500 models, including proficiency with TIA Portal.
• Practical knowledge of HMI and SCADA system development.
• Understanding of variable frequency drives (VFDs), motor control, control circuit design, and ability to interpret electrical drawings.
• Familiarity with industrial communication protocols such as Modbus TCP/IP, Profinet, and Profibus.
• Ability to read and analyze complex electrical schematics and control diagrams.
• Flexibility to travel for deployment and troubleshooting assignments at various sites.

Preferred Experience

• Prior experience working in automation related to industrial furnaces and heat treatment processes.
• Knowledge of temperature regulation, PID control systems, burners, and heating equipment.
• Hands-on experience with Siemens automation suites including PLCs, HMIs, and drive systems.
• Exposure to PCC (Power Control Center), MCC (Motor Control Center), and comprehensive PLC panel testing and commissioning.
