Role Overview

We seek a hands-on Platform Operations Executive who will be responsible for managing commodity trading and B2B commerce platforms during Asian market hours. This role encompasses live platform operation, participant assistance, testing activities, and proactive client engagement within Asian commodity markets.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee and monitor live trading sessions during Asian trading hours, ensuring smooth operation and seamless handover with the London desk.
• Provide primary real-time support to platform participants, addressing queries around order management, connectivity, and platform features.
• Manage trade facilitation, executing customer instructions, encouraging active bidding and offering to boost market liquidity, and communicating platform activity to participants.
• Monitor volatility controls vigilantly and immediately escalate any breaches.
• Report any unusual or suspicious trading activities to the Compliance team promptly.
• Foster and maintain relationships with Asian market participants including producers, converters, and traders to enhance platform adoption.
• Conduct product demonstrations, platform walkthroughs, and training sessions for prospects and active participants in Asia.
• Collect, document, and communicate market intelligence and participant feedback to the London office in a structured manner.
• Coordinate cross-regional handovers, participant engagements, and global pipelines with London counterparts.
• Support business User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for platform upgrades, including executing test scripts, logging defects, and verifying fixes during Asian trading hours.
• Test Asian-specific platform settings such as trading hours, participant profiles, and connectivity before go-live and major releases.
• Collaborate with Technology and London teams on release planning and validation activities.

Required Experience and Skills

• Between 2 and 5 years of experience in commodity trading operations, exchange operations, venue support, or commodity sales/business development within Asia.
• Good understanding of Asian commodity markets.
• Fluency in Mandarin is essential; proficiency in additional Asian languages is a plus.
• Familiarity with trading platforms, auction processes, or commodity exchanges.
• Experience with User Acceptance Testing (UAT) or platform testing in trading environments preferred.
• Ability to work comfortably across multiple time zones and cultures, demonstrating strong interpersonal skills.
• Self-motivated and capable of working independently while collaborating with a global team.
