Platform Engineer

Position Overview

Safe Tech Precast Building Manufacturing LLC is seeking a skilled Platform Engineer based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. This role involves architecting, building, maintaining, and enhancing scalable platform infrastructures that support modern applications, development processes, and essential business functions.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and sustain scalable cloud and platform infrastructures.
• Create and manage CI/CD pipelines to enable smooth software deployment.
• Automate provisioning, configuration, deployment, and operational workflows.
• Oversee cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Implement and maintain Infrastructure as Code using tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Support containerized environments utilizing Docker and Kubernetes orchestration.
• Monitor platform health including availability, performance, capacity, and reliability metrics.
• Troubleshoot infrastructure, deployment, network, and platform application issues.
• Deploy logging, monitoring, alerting, and observability solutions.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Software Engineering, Security, QA, and IT Operations teams.
• Define and uphold platform standards, reusable tools, templates, and best engineering practices.
• Enhance developer productivity by simplifying deployment and development processes.
• Support security protocols, access controls, backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity efforts.
• Engage in incident response, root-cause analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related disciplines.
• Between 4 and 7+ years experience in Platform Engineering, DevOps, Cloud Engineering, or Infrastructure Engineering roles.
• Strong grasp of Linux operating systems, networking fundamentals, cloud infrastructure, and distributed system architectures.
• Hands-on experience with cloud providers such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Proficiency with containerization and orchestration tools including Docker and Kubernetes.
• Competence in Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform and Ansible.
• Experience designing and managing CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, or similar platforms.
• Familiarity with source control using Git and scripting languages such as Python or Bash.
• Knowledge of monitoring and observability platforms including Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack, or equivalents.
• Excellent problem-solving, troubleshooting, automation, and analytical skills.
• Experience working within the UAE or GCC technology environment is advantageous.
• Relevant certifications in AWS, Azure, Kubernetes, Terraform, DevOps, or similar are considered an asset.
