About the Company and Role
Crilam Decorative Pvt. Ltd., located in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, specializes in manufacturing decorative building materials, including doors and panels. The company is seeking an experienced Plant Manager to lead and oversee daily production operations effectively.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop detailed daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules based on client orders and priorities.
- Assign tasks to machines and operators, ensuring delivery timelines are consistently met.
- Monitor all stages of work-in-progress and identify production bottlenecks to implement corrective actions promptly.
- Supervise and optimize the use of major equipment such as PUR Flat Lamination Machines, Acrylic Lamination Machines, CNC Machines, Panel Saws, Calibrators, and related machinery.
- Ensure machines are utilized optimally with minimal idle time, appropriate settings, and strict adherence to preventive maintenance plans.
- Manage manpower allocation, attendance, discipline, and productivity while providing necessary worker training to enhance efficiency and safety.
- Conduct rigorous quality inspections throughout production, including raw materials, cutting, calibration, lamination, finishing, and dispatch stages.
- Oversee raw material inventory and consumption, coordinating procurement needs and preventing excess usage or wastage.
- Implement waste reduction strategies targeting board, laminate, adhesive wastage, rework, rejections, and machine downtime.
- Coordinate dispatch activities to ensure order accuracy and timely deliveries, communicating any delays to relevant parties promptly.
- Prepare and maintain preventive maintenance schedules, service records, and coordinate with technicians to minimize unplanned downtime.
- Enforce strict safety protocols and housekeeping standards, ensuring proper PPE usage and prompt reporting of unsafe conditions.
- Submit comprehensive daily reports to management covering production orders, outputs, machine performance, manpower status, material usage, wastage, quality issues, and pending tasks.
Candidate Profile & Requirements
- Diploma, B.Tech, or BE in Mechanical, Production, or Industrial Engineering or a related technical discipline is preferred.
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in manufacturing plant management, particularly in the doors, plywood, laminates, furniture, woodworking, or panel processing sectors.
- Proficient in production planning, factory operations, manpower supervision, machine management, quality control, inventory oversight, and preventive maintenance.
- Basic computer skills, including Excel, with the ability to generate production reports and solve operational problems effectively.
- Demonstrates leadership qualities, discipline, and ability to manage strict production deadlines.
Performance Metrics
- Achieving production targets of at least 95%.
- Ensuring on-time completion of production plans with a 95% success rate.
- Continuous improvement in machine utilization and minimization of downtime.
- Reducing rejection and rework rates to the lowest practical values.
- Controlling material wastage within company standards.
- Maintaining accurate production planning and reporting.
- Upholding quality consistency, manpower productivity, inventory control, and factory safety and housekeeping standards.
