Role Overview
This position offers an exciting prospect to guide the Wiri plant during a significant phase of growth. The Plant Manager will oversee the entire site’s performance, leading a diverse team and championing operational excellence focusing on safety, workforce development, production targets, quality standards, cost control, and customer satisfaction. This leadership role includes fostering capability building, optimizing site performance, and nurturing a culture of high achievement supporting Visy’s expansion in beverage can manufacturing.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and nurture a highly effective site leadership and operational team.
- Promote and sustain a safety-first culture, ensuring adherence to all health, safety and environmental regulations.
- Achieve production volumes, quality benchmarks, and service levels aligned with client requirements.
- Manage site financial results including cost management, productivity, and profit margins.
- Enhance plant efficiency, reliability, and asset usage.
- Drive continuous process improvements and implement Lean manufacturing principles across operations.
- Collaborate closely with Sales and Supply Chain teams to fulfill customer expectations.
- Provide comprehensive reporting, forecasting, and insightful performance metrics to stakeholders.
- Develop workforce capabilities, engagement, and accountability throughout the site.
- Engage actively in customer relationships and commercial discussions.
Candidate Profile
- Experienced Plant Manager or senior leader with a record of managing manufacturing operations.
- Background in high-volume manufacturing settings.
- Skilled in leading diverse, large-scale teams.
- Strong commercial insight with responsibility for cost and performance.
- Demonstrated leadership in safety compliance and fostering safe work environments.
- Proven ability to implement continuous improvement initiatives and operational excellence.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement competencies.
