Promise Robotics has launched production at an advanced robotic homebuilding facility in Greater Calgary, Alberta. This cutting-edge plant, created in collaboration with major homebuilders, leverages innovative timber panelized construction technology to dramatically improve homebuilding capacity and speed in this rapidly expanding region.

Role Overview

We are seeking a Plant Accountant based in Calgary to manage both financial and operational accounting functions. This position demands active involvement across the full accounting cycle, including month-end closing, inventory and cost accounting, compliance measures, and procurement support.

Primary Responsibilities

• Manage comprehensive accounting processes such as journal entry recording, general ledger upkeep, reconciling accounts, and resolving discrepancies.
• Support the completion of monthly, quarterly, and annual closes involving accrual accounting, prepaid accounts, payroll entries, preparation of working papers, and financial report generation.
• Review accounts payable and receivable transactions; aid in reconciling vendors and customer accounts.
• Assist with inventory counting, reconciling, valuation tasks, work-in-progress accounting, cost allocation, and variance assessments.
• Monitor costs associated with manufacturing and projects; perform month-end adjustments to inventory as needed.
• Contribute to payroll reconciliations, GST submissions, regulatory compliance filings, and respond to requests from external auditors.
• Facilitate procurement duties including managing purchase orders, onboarding vendors, performing three-way matches, and overseeing outstanding purchase orders.
• Collaborate closely with Operations and Production teams to support purchasing and inventory requirements.
• Identify and recommend enhancements to accounting procedures; support improvements to ERP or accounting systems.

Candidate Requirements

• Pursued a diploma or bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related discipline.
• Possess between three and five years of advancing accounting experience, preferably within manufacturing, industrial, construction, or project-focused sectors.
• Possess practical expertise in full-cycle accounting, reconciliations, and month-end closing activities.
• Demonstrate strong familiarity with inventory management, cost accounting, work-in-progress accounting, and manufacturing accounting principles.
• Experience working with ERP or accounting software and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, able to handle multiple priorities effectively.
• Excellent collaborative communication skills facilitating effective work across Finance and Operations teams.
• Holding a CPA certification or progressing towards obtaining one is an advantage.
