About the Role
Candidzone is searching for a Planning Engineer to join a project with Acciona at Ras Laffan Industrial City in Qatar. The successful candidate will bring extensive expertise in project planning and scheduling, particularly within Oil & Gas, construction, or comparable desalination plant projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Create, update, and maintain comprehensive project schedules utilizing Primavera P6 software.
- Track the project’s progress relative to approved schedules, milestones, and targets.
- Develop baseline schedules, short-term look-ahead plans, and detailed progress reporting.
- Collaborate closely with project managers and teams from engineering, procurement, and construction disciplines.
- Identify delays, critical path activities, and risks that may affect the timeline.
- Analyze schedule deviations and suggest appropriate corrective measures.
- Monitor achievement of milestones to ensure projects meet deadlines.
- Produce progress measurement reports and necessary planning documentation.
- Assist in project forecasting and implementing schedule recovery strategies.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- At least 10 years of experience in relevant sectors such as Oil & Gas, construction, or related industries.
- Proven experience with projects related to desalination plants or similar industrial facilities.
- Hands-on proficiency in Primavera P6 and other project scheduling tools.
- Solid understanding of project scheduling, progress monitoring techniques, and reporting processes.
- Experience in liaising and coordinating with multidisciplinary project teams.
- Excellent analytical abilities coupled with strong organizational and communication skills.
