About the Role

Our client, a prominent European contractor specializing in large-scale data centre projects, is expanding and seeking a senior Planning Director to join their leadership team in Dublin City. This pivotal position involves overseeing the entire planning and scheduling function across major international data centre developments. The salary package will reflect the seniority of this role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and grow the planning and scheduling department.
  • Establish and uphold planning standards across projects to ensure consistency.
  • Review and critically assess project programmes, including critical path and progress metrics.
  • Deliver senior-level reports on program performance, risks, and critical milestones.
  • Collaborate with project delivery, commercial, engineering, procurement, and commissioning teams to identify risks and formulate recovery strategies.
  • Support activities related to pre-construction, tender processes, and project mobilization.
  • Engage with clients, consultants, and senior stakeholders throughout project delivery.
  • Drive the uniformity of planning processes and reporting standards.
  • Enhance the company’s project controls and planning capabilities continually.

Candidate Profile

  • Extensive experience in construction planning and scheduling.
  • Specialized knowledge in data centre, mission critical, or highly complex construction environments.
  • Proven track record managing planning teams.
  • Advanced proficiency in Primavera P6 software.
  • Comprehensive understanding of construction sequencing, critical path methods, and programme risk management.
  • Experience liaising directly with senior clients and key project stakeholders.
  • Exceptional communication and leadership abilities.
  • Capability to operate at both strategic and project-specific levels.
  • Experience managing multiple projects or locations is advantageous.

Additional Information

The position is based in Dublin City, with occasional travel across Europe. It is a permanent role suitable for candidates currently working as Planning Directors, Heads of Planning, Senior Planning Managers, Project Controls Directors, or senior planning professionals aspiring to step into a leadership role.
