Job description
Role Overview
The Planner is tasked with estimating project timelines and ensuring that all deadlines are successfully achieved. This role requires close cooperation with Setter Out, Manufacturing, Procurement, and Logistics teams to maintain project schedules and guarantee material availability.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the creation of detailed project schedules and timelines for joinery and furniture production projects, from initiation to delivery.
- Develop skills to identify crucial tasks, project dependencies, and bottlenecks that may impact the project flow.
- Assist in preparing baseline schedules, dashboards, and progress tracking reports to monitor project status effectively.
- Serve as a liaison between Setting-Out, Procurement, Production, Logistics, Project Management, and external stakeholders to ensure alignment on project updates and requirements.
- Help manage project communications and documentation with external parties to maintain clarity and accuracy.
- Collaborate with Material Engineering and Procurement teams to grasp material needs, delivery timeframes, and coordinate timely order follow-ups, escalating concerns as needed.
- Contribute to drafting weekly and monthly progress reports for management evaluation.
- Support coordination efforts with production teams to address communication or scheduling challenges.
- Assist in analyzing project phases and dependencies to enhance follow-up efficiency via tracking tools.
- Participate in initiatives to boost team effectiveness by providing operational and administrative assistance.
- Recommend and aid in the deployment of procedural improvements to increase departmental productivity and output quality.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, or Interior Design.
- 3 to 5 years of experience in project planning, scheduling, and operational roles within manufacturing or construction/fit-out sectors.
- Experience working with Extension of Time (EOT) claims using various techniques.
- Proficiency in baseline schedules, schedule updates, Earned Value Management (EVM), and producing weekly and monthly reports.
- Skills in preparing dashboards for project monitoring.
- Familiarity with Primavera P6; knowledge of MS Project is advantageous.
- Understanding sequencing and logical progression of multiple concurrent projects.
