About the Role
The Placement Officer will provide essential support to learners enrolled in The Learning Foundry's funded training programmes by securing and organizing high-quality work placement opportunities with appropriate employers. This position is integral to helping learners build skills, gain practical workplace experience, and smoothly transition into lasting employment.
The role requires establishing and nurturing strong connections with local employers across Liverpool City Region to develop placement options that match the learners' skills, interests, and career goals. Equally, the officer will work closely with learners to assess their abilities, support requirements, and employment objectives.
Providing excellent information, advice, and guidance (IAG) to both learners and employers forms a core part of the responsibility, ensuring placements are successful, valuable, and aligned with programme targets.
Key Responsibilities
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with local businesses to secure placement opportunities.
- Support learners by matching their skills and aspirations with suitable placements.
- Offer high-quality guidance and support to learners and employers to facilitate successful placement experiences.
- Contribute to learners' progression and positive post-placement outcomes.
Candidate Requirements
- Proven experience in a similar role or field.
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities, including presenting complex information clearly.
- Capability to manage shifting priorities, perform under pressure, and meet tight deadlines with flexibility.
- Familiarity with funding mechanisms and working on employability or skills development programmes.
- Comfortable with networking and establishing new professional relationships.
- Possession of Level 3 IAG qualification is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Background in sales or recruitment is also highly valued.

Additional Information
- Annual full-time salary: 30,000 (35 hours per week)
- Permanent full-time position based in Liverpool city centre office with hybrid working options.
- Planned interview date: Tuesday 29th September 2026.
