With over 12,500 students and around 1,000 staff, the college plays an instrumental role in fostering social mobility, innovation, and regional prosperity.

Role Overview

We are looking for a diligent and proactive Placement Coordinator to join our Business Development Team. This role involves facilitating valuable industry placements for students enrolled in T Levels, Work Experience programs, and Higher Education courses. The coordinator will collaborate with employers, curriculum teams, and students to ensure placements meet educational objectives and offer meaningful work experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with curriculum teams and employers to develop placement opportunities that have clear goals and align with educational requirements.
  • Assist students in preparation for placements, including helping with CV writing, managing interview scheduling, and clarifying employer expectations.
  • Keep accurate records of placement activities, ensuring compliance with Department for Education (DfE), Quality Assurance Agency (QAA), and internal quality standards, especially regarding student safety protocols.
  • Gather feedback from both employers and students to continuously enhance the quality and range of placement experiences, working alongside Careers and programme teams.

What We Offer

  • Generous annual leave plus 5 additional gifted days during Christmas closure (pro-rated for part-time staff).
  • A robust pension scheme.
  • Opportunities for professional development and funded training.
  • Flexible working arrangements and family-friendly policies.
  • Comprehensive wellbeing support and staff recognition initiatives.

Our Values and Working Environment

The college embraces CAREER values – Community, Authenticity, Relentless Optimism, Everyone Included, Excellence, and Respect – fostering an inclusive and empowering workplace for both employees and students. Staff benefit from modern facilities, visionary leadership, and a commitment to innovation and inclusion.

Support During Recruitment

We are dedicated to an inclusive recruitment process and welcome applicants to request adjustments to participate fully in the selection stages. Applications must be complete; CV-only submissions will not be accepted.

Safeguarding and Legal Compliance

Blackpool and The Fylde College prioritises safeguarding all learners and requires all staff to undertake safeguarding training and follow relevant policies. Employment is contingent on passing pre-employment checks such as an Enhanced DBS, qualification verification, references, and eligibility to work in the UK. The role is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order (as amended).
