Picker / Packer

About the Role

This position involves operating within a dark store environment — a specialized warehouse designed exclusively for processing online orders for e-commerce platforms such as Amazon, Flipkart, and the company pp or website. These facilities are closed to walk-in customers, enabling rapid order fulfillment and dispatch.

Primary Responsibilities

• Processing incoming online orders from Amazon, Flipkart, and the companywebsite/app.
• Locating and retrieving products from designated storage racks or shelves as per order details.
• Verifying item specifications including name, quantity, size, and product condition.
• Safely packing goods using appropriate materials like boxes, bags, bubble wrap, and tape.
• Labeling packages and preparing them accurately for shipment.
• Scanning barcodes with handheld scanners or mobile devices.
• Sorting shipments based on delivery routes or courier assignments.
• Maintaining accurate stock records and ensuring warehouse cleanliness.
• Assisting with inward and outward inventory tasks.
• Adhering to FIFO (First In, First Out) principles and safety protocols within the dark store.

Daily Workflow

• Receive orders through the system.
• Picker retrieves items from storage.
• Packer examines and packs items securely.
• Parcels are labeled and scanned.
• Completed orders are handed over to the delivery team or courier service.

Required Skills & Abilities

• Basic proficiency in reading English and Hindi.
• Competent handling of mobile scanning devices.
• Ability to pick items quickly and accurately.
• Effective teamwork and communication skills.
• Physical endurance to stand and walk for extended periods.
• High attention to detail to ensure correct orders.

Work Environment & Schedule

• Fast-moving warehouse or dark store setting.
• Shift patterns include day and night rotations.
• Weekly days off scheduled according to roster.
• Performance targets to meet.

Compensation

Monthly salary ranges from 8000 to 20000 INR depending on performance and shifts.
