About the Role and Company

Join Hellers NZ's Butcher at their Kaiapoi site, just a 15-minute drive from central Christchurch. Our company values include a strong commitment to our people and quality products. This position is for a Picker Packer on a fixed-term basis for 12 months, working Monday to Friday, from 6:00am until 2:30pm. The job requires a hands-on approach in a brisk and temperature-controlled environment, perfect for candidates who take satisfaction in completing tasks correctly the first time.

Key Duties

  • Accurately pick and pack customer orders to consistently meet daily targets and expected pick rates.
  • Safely operate machinery and equipment, selecting appropriate tools for each activity.
  • Conduct equipment inspections as instructed to guarantee safe and proper functioning.
  • Adhere to personal protective equipment (PPE) guidelines, hand hygiene, and sanitation procedures.
  • Maintain excellent personal cleanliness and uphold stringent food safety standards to avoid cross-contamination.
  • Promptly communicate any issues related to processes, products, or safety to supervisory staff.
  • Ensure the work environment remains tidy, safe, and free from hazards.

Candidate Profile

  • Demonstrates strong hand-eye coordination, keen attention to detail, and active listening skills.
  • Physically robust, capable of standing for extended periods in cold settings.
  • Dependable with punctuality and a strong work ethic.
  • Possesses the ability to read instructions and perform basic numeric checks for quality assurance.
  • Comfortable adhering to PPE protocols and maintaining high standards of hygiene and food safety.
  • Holding a forklift licence is beneficial but not a requirement.
