Role Overview

We are looking for a seasoned Year 7-13 Physical Education Teacher to join our team starting Term 1, 2027. This permanent position involves delivering engaging, varied lessons and coaching team sports. The successful candidate will thrive in a supportive culture and contribute actively to the school's broader activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and conduct stimulating Physical Education classes for Years 7–13 aligned with Cambridge curriculum standards and school requirements.
  • Create an inclusive and motivating classroom environment that fosters student wellbeing and achievement.
  • Evaluate student progress continuously, providing constructive feedback to students and parents.
  • Participate actively in extracurricular programs, school events, camps, and pastoral duties.
  • Coach and lead competitive sports teams encouraging teamwork, excellence, and full participation.
  • Collaborate with other educators to improve curriculum and teaching practices.
  • Maintain high standards in safeguarding, health and safety, and professional interactions, building positive relationships throughout the school community.

Candidate Profile

  • Proven experience teaching Physical Education to Years 7–13 with the ability to engage diverse learners.
  • Skilled in planning and delivering differentiated lessons that enhance student success and welfare.
  • Competent in assessing, record-keeping, and communicating student progress.
  • Effective classroom management coupled with capability building positive stakeholder relationships.
  • Experienced in coaching school sports teams promoting active participation and sportsmanship.
  • Involvement in extracurricular, pastoral care, and school community initiatives.
  • Familiarity with Cambridge International programs is a plus but not mandatory.
  • Confirmed NZ Teacher registration and relevant teaching qualifications (BA and/or MBA).
