Job Overview
Under the supervision of the Pharmacy Operations Manager or team lead, the Pharmacy Labeler is responsible for accurately and efficiently affixing labels to medication packages.
Key Responsibilities
- Print labels for medications.
- Ensure labels are correctly placed on the appropriate medication promptly.
- Assemble, label, and provide supplies as required by specific contracts.
- Take part in quality assurance activities as assigned.
- Maintain cleanliness in the department daily through general housekeeping duties.
- File documents correctly following policies and procedures.
- Communicate effectively with all healthcare team members.
- Engage in performance improvement, quality assurance programs, education, and departmental meetings.
- Carry out additional duties as delegated.
Qualifications
- Completion of high school diploma or an equivalent certification.
- Experience in a fast-paced setting demanding a high degree of accuracy.
Skills and Knowledge Requirements
- Ability to read and interpret safety guidelines and procedural manuals.
- Basic understanding of medical terminology.
- Competency in arithmetic operations including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division involving whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
- Capability to compute rates, ratios, percentages, and perform simple algebraic calculations.
- Apply common sense to follow written, spoken, or diagrammatic instructions.
- Problem-solving skills for handling situations with multiple variables in standardized contexts.
- Organized, disciplined, with basic computer proficiency.
Physical and Environmental Conditions
- Regular verbal communication and hearing required.
- Frequent standing, walking, sitting, manual preparation of packages, computer and equipment use, and reaching motions.
- Vision requirements cover close, color, night, peripheral vision, depth perception, and focusing abilities.
- Lifting tasks as per individual capacity with supervisor notified of any health issues affecting lifting ability.
- Potential exposure to fumes, airborne particles, occasional toxic or caustic chemicals.
- Work near moving parts occasionally, with typical moderate noise levels.
