Job description
Role Overview
This position as a Pharmacy Dispenser is vital within the store's healthcare team, supporting pharmacists and other healthcare specialists to deliver safe and effective pharmacy services. You'll engage daily with patients, responding to their health needs through welcoming interactions, dispensing prescriptions, and providing knowledgeable advice to help them make informed health decisions.
Key Responsibilities
- Accurately dispensing prescriptions while ensuring medicines are safely supplied, including tasks such as ordering, labeling, endorsing, and prescription collection.
- Collaborating with healthcare professionals in the store to help coordinate and provide pharmacy services effectively.
- Offering guidance and advice on medicines to patients and escalating queries to the pharmacist when necessary.
- Adhering strictly to Standard Operating Procedures to guarantee safe and compliant dispensing of prescriptions.
- Keeping current with store innovations and following operational guidelines.
- Assisting patients in managing their prescriptions by arranging reliable repeats and promoting proper medication adherence to minimize waste.
- Utilizing evolving in-store technologies to enhance dispensing processes, improving patient safety and allowing more patient-focused time.
Qualifications and Experience
- Possession of Pharmacy Advisor NVQ Level 2 qualification or an equivalent credential, or currently enrolled with completion of the first year of an MPharm degree.
- Valid right to work in the UK is required, with no visa sponsorship provided for this role.
- Prior experience in community pharmacy is advantageous but not mandatory.
