Position Overview

Weill Cornell Medicine-Qatar invites applications for a faculty position in pharmacology dedicated to advancing medical education with a focus on pharmacology instruction across an integrated medical curriculum. The role involves teaching foundational sciences and clinical clerkships, contributing to research, mentoring students, and fostering an inclusive, culturally diverse academic environment.

Job Responsibilities

  • Lead teaching of pharmacology over the four-year medical curriculum using a variety of pedagogical strategies.
  • Mentor students and support their academic and professional development.
  • Engage in research activities spanning basic science, translational, or medical education areas, collaborating locally and internationally.
  • Participate in scholarly publications, presentations, and grant projects to uphold academic excellence.

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Possess an M.D., Ph.D., PharmD, M.D./Ph.D., or an equivalent terminal degree.
  • Proven record of excellence in teaching pharmacology and scholarship that aligns with WCM-Q's research interests.
  • Experience teaching pharmacology principles and systems pharmacology within a medical school curriculum.
  • Demonstrated commitment to medical education research and willingness to engage in academic administration related to teaching.

Preferred Qualifications

  • At least three years of significant academic teaching experience at the university or health system level, ideally in North America.
  • Experience providing personalized guidance and feedback to medical students.
  • Familiarity with developing and innovating medical education curricula.
  • Established record in basic, translational, or educational research is advantageous.
  • Evidence of innovative teaching methods, student advising, and active research participation valued.
