Job Summary and Responsibilities

The Cashier will uphold excellent customer service according to company standards, handling sales transactions swiftly, precisely, and efficiently while operating cash registers and safeguarding company assets.

• Provide welcoming and friendly service by acknowledging every customer, maintaining high service quality, and demonstrating thorough product knowledge.
• Stay informed about all current promotions and advertisements.
• Operate sales registers accurately, managing cash and products responsibly.
• Process diverse payment methods including cash, credit, checks, gift cards, promotions, coupons, and rewards.
• Maintain thorough records of offline sales transactions.
• Relay customer inquiries and requests to management promptly.
• Assist customers by carrying bulky or heavy products when requested.
• Ensure inventory accuracy by recording usage and damage following inventory procedures.
• Keep the register area clean, organized, and well-stocked.
• Stock sales floor and backstock quickly and price merchandise appropriately.
• Perform dusting and cleaning in assigned store areas.
• Complete any additional duties assigned by management.

Skills and Competencies

• Proficient in processing merchandise and information through register systems.
• Effective communication skills with colleagues and customers.
• Ability to read, count, and document sales data accurately.
• Capability to operate necessary equipment required for the role.

Experience and Education Requirements

• Minimum of six months’ experience gained through employment, volunteer work, or school activities.
• At least three months experience handling cash is mandatory.

Additional Requirements

• Physical stamina to stand for prolonged periods and handle/move boxes and merchandise weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Comfortable working around various live animals.
• Flexibility to work varied schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays.
