Role Overview
The Personal Support Worker role involves providing direct in-home assistance to clients with acquired spinal cord injuries to enhance their quality of life.
Key Responsibilities
- Assisting transfers into and out of beds and wheelchairs, including use of hoists when needed
- Supporting clients with grooming, bathing, dressing, and dental care
- Providing personal care, such as toileting assistance and bladder and bowel management
- Administering basic wound care and supporting self-medication routines
- Helping with domestic tasks including meal preparation, housekeeping, and laundry
- Facilitating community participation by driving clients to appointments and social events
Candidate Profile
- Strong listening skills and genuine communication
- Availability for fixed fortnightly rosters including mornings, afternoons, evenings, and overnight shifts
- Valid driver's license with access to a dependable vehicle
- Current or willingness to obtain NDIS Worker Screening and Blue Cards
- Relevant experience and/or formal qualifications in personal support care
