About the Role
We+ Asia is looking for Senior Engineers and Engineers specializing in Persistent Software (Embedded) to join our client’s dynamic multinational team in Singapore. The selected candidate will be responsible for the design, development, and integration of software for user experience (UX) products, focusing on persistent memory management.
Key Responsibilities
- Define software architecture and concepts for persistent memory management including storage formats, wear-leveling, data consistency, security, rollback mechanisms, and robustness.
- Collaborate with system architects to interpret customer system requirements related to persistent memory and develop suitable solutions.
- Create software solutions for persistent memory drivers encompassing device longevity maintenance, bad block and data integrity management across various scenarios.
- Integrate and maintain eMMC and NAND flash drivers with functionalities such as wear leveling and handling of bad blocks.
- Establish benchmarking strategies for memory bandwidth and continually search for optimization opportunities.
- Provide technical support in root-cause analysis for field failures and customer issues concerning persistent memory defects.
- Work closely with hardware memory teams to define memory portfolios and implement state-of-the-art software strategies and applications.
- Contribute detailed software documentation, participate in design reviews, and uphold code quality standards.
- Interface with hardware, testing, and software teams to validate system reliability and behavior.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related fields.
- Strong expertise in embedded systems architecture and memory technologies.
- Proficient in C/C++ programming targeted at embedded system development.
- Experience with eMMC/flash memory technologies, file systems, and low-level driver development.
- Solid understanding of microcontrollers, System on Chips (SoCs), boot procedures, and memory controllers.
- Knowledge of automotive industry standards such as ASPICE is a plus.
- Capability to design system concepts meeting longevity and functional safety criteria.
- Hands-on experience with embedded development instruments like emulators, analyzers, and oscilloscopes.
