Role Summary

The Performance Management Specialist plays a key role in supporting the creation, execution, and monitoring of the organization's performance management framework. This position ensures that employee performance is effectively tracked while fostering fairness, consistency, and ongoing enhancement across performance processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist managers with establishing SMART, quantifiable objectives for employees.
• Work closely with heads of departments and line managers to keep employee job descriptions current and accurate.
• Facilitate departmental efforts to establish and identify appropriate Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
• Oversee maintenance and updates of the KPI database to ensure KPIs remain relevant, measurable, and aligned with roles.
• Monitor progress on objectives and KPIs, guaranteeing timely updates and thorough documentation.
• Compile periodic reports highlighting performance progression, gaps, and significant insights.
• Support and coordinate annual evaluation processes to ensure reviews are completed timely and accurately.
• Review evaluation submissions for fairness, completeness, and consistency across the board.
• Conduct training sessions to raise awareness about the performance cycle, KPI development, evaluation techniques, and system utilization.
• Identify training requirements based on performance outcomes and aid in deploying relevant development initiatives.
• Offer guidance to staff and managers regarding performance management tools and KPI selection within the system.
• Administer the digital performance management platform, ensuring data integrity and resolving system issues.
• Generate reports from the performance management system as needed.
• Ensure compliance with established performance management policies and procedures.
• Maintain and organize training, awareness, and performance documentation for audits and internal review purposes.
• Promote ongoing enhancements to the overall performance management process.
• Manage Performance Improvement Plans post-appraisal by handling documentation, tracking progress, and coordinating with managers throughout the improvement period.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Education, or a closely related discipline.
• Certification in Training & Development (e.g., Certified Professional in Training & Development or equivalent) is beneficial.
• Proven experience in a Performance Management Officer role or a comparable position.
• Capability to design engaging and effective training content.
• 2 to 4 years of experience in Performance Management or Human Resources roles.
• Comprehensive knowledge of KPIs is essential.
• Strong analytical skills to assess and interpret performance data.
• Excellent presentation and facilitation capabilities to conduct training sessions.
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills to interact with diverse teams.
