People Partner (Tech & Product)

Located in Cambridge with a flexible hybrid working arrangement (1-2 days per week on site), this permanent position offers a salary from £60,000 to £70,000. The role exists to provide strategic partnership to the Technology and Product teams by shaping and owning their people strategy, going beyond simply executing HR processes.

Role Purpose

You will act as a true strategic partner to leadership in Technology and Product, deeply involved in setting people strategies that align with business goals. This includes authoritative ownership of headcount, organizational design, succession planning, and retention strategies directly coordinated with executive leadership.

Key Responsibilities

• Participate actively in leadership planning cycles to anticipate and influence roadmaps and resource trade-offs.
• Lead the end-to-end people strategy for Technology and Product functions.
• Identify cross-departmental trends and collaborate with the broader People Partner team to address systemic issues in promotion criteria and onboarding processes.
• Provide coaching and constructive challenge to senior leaders, including executives, based on data and insight.
• Innovate by integrating AI into People team operations and functions rather than treating it as an add-on.

Candidate Profile

• Experience as a strategic People Partner or HR Business Partner in fast-growing or evolving companies, ideally within tech or SaaS sectors, supporting product or engineering leadership.
• Strong commercial acumen connecting business needs with people challenges and delivering measurable business outcomes.
• Proven skill in influencing senior stakeholders without formal authority and making decisions effective and lasting.
• Comfortable interpreting and leveraging key people metrics (attrition, engagement, hiring velocity, time-to-fill) to understand underlying issues.
• Track record contributing to People team development by creating frameworks or reforming processes beyond their direct domain.
