Job description
Overview
Lovable seeks an experienced Human Resources Business Partner to collaborate closely with the Engineering, Product, and Design (EPD) teams—the company's largest and fastest expanding segment. This role serves as a trusted advisor to leadership, advising on organizational structure, location strategies, talent management, employee relations, manager effectiveness, and guiding change management amid scaling efforts across Stockholm and London offices. This position requires physical presence in either Stockholm or London.
About Lovable
Lovable provides a software creation platform empowering individuals and teams to swiftly transform ideas into software without heavy capital or technical demands, fostering innovation since November 2024. The company supports solopreneurs, small businesses, and large enterprises such as Adidas and Zendesk, with over 60 million projects built on the platform. Headquartered in Stockholm, Lovable has growing teams in London, Boston, New York, and San Francisco, maintaining a small, highly skilled workforce driven by ownership, rapid delivery, and collaborative humility. Recognized as one of TIME's 100 Most Influential Companies and featured on Forbes AI 50 and CNBC Disruptor 50, Lovable stands among Europe’s leading AI and tech innovators.
Primary Responsibilities
- Develop deep partnerships with EPD leaders, advising on critical people-related business decisions, including team design, leadership quality, talent density, retention strategies, and managing organizational change.
- Innovate HR processes by leveraging AI-enabled workflows to enhance operational velocity and quality, specifically in areas such as manager support, data insight generation, communication, and structuring operational rhythms; promote these methods among EPD leadership thoughtfully.
- Collaborate with Engineering Leadership, Finance, Recruiting, and People Operations to clarify and enforce workforce planning, define roles and reporting lines, optimize organizational layers and spans, devise contractor strategies, and anticipate future organizational needs.
- Manage the entire cycle of EPD performance reviews quarterly, covering manager preparation, calibration, monitoring at-risk employees, handling level adjustments, follow-up actions, and maintaining clean HR processes.
- Analyze qualitative signals and workforce data to detect potential problems like turnover risks, managerial weaknesses, and team issues early, then translate findings into actionable solutions.
- Oversee sensitive employee relations matters, including performance improvement plans, workplace investigations, resignations, probation concerns, and terminations, working alongside Legal and People Operations.
- Provide coaching to technical leadership on challenging discussions, readiness for promotions, organizational realignment, feedback mechanisms, accountability, team well-being, and decision-making focused on clarity over consensus.
- Design and implement scalable people programs specific to EPD, encompassing manager enablement, career development frameworks, consistency in leveling, compensation processes, engagement initiatives, and change management.
Candidate Profile
- Minimum of 10 years' experience as an HR Business Partner or People Partner, with direct involvement supporting organizations focused on engineering, product, design, research, or similar technical fields.
- Background in AI-native companies, developer tools, product-led, or fast-scaling technology firms.
- Demonstrated sound business acumen, with capability to align personnel decisions to corporate goals, product development pace, leadership impact, and team effectiveness.
- Expertise in navigating sensitive employee relations cases such as performance issues, conduct concerns, probation, resignations, and terminations.
- Confidence in delivering candid feedback to senior technical leaders while preserving trust, confidentiality, and strong working relationships.
- Comfortable operating amidst ambiguity and rapid changes, able to build structure in a dynamic environment still in formation.
