About the Corporate Services Group

The Corporate Services Group partners closely with the wider organisation to help deliver the EPA’s key functions efficiently and effectively. It comprises five main functions: Information Management and Technology, Finance and Business Services, People and Capability, Communications, and Customer and Enterprise Projects.

The People and Capability function specifically leads initiatives, policies, and processes that support EPA’s strategic goals and strengthen organisational capability, capacity, and culture. It oversees recruitment, learning and development, employment relations, remuneration, performance management, and health and safety.

Role Overview

Based in Wellington, this role invites some remote work but is not intended for full-time remote arrangements. As the People and Capability Coordinator, you will provide high-quality people services spanning the employee lifecycle. You will coordinate activities such as recruitment, onboarding/offboarding, learning and development, payroll administration, as well as health, safety, and wellbeing initiatives.

This multifaceted and dynamic role involves collaboration with employees, leaders, and external partners, alongside managing systems, coordinating programs and events, generating reports, and supporting projects aimed at improving organisational capability and the employee experience.

Candidate Profile

  • Experience in administrative, coordinating, human resources, recruitment, payroll, learning and development, health and safety, or related areas.
  • Excellent organisational skills enabling management of multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail matched with confidence in handling systems, data, and report generation.
  • Superior written and oral communication skills.
  • A proactive approach focused on providing exceptional customer service.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders effectively.
  • Comfortable working independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Motivation for continuous learning and career growth in People and Capability.
  • Familiarity with HRIS or payroll systems and relevant HR or Health and Safety qualifications are advantageous.

Salary

The salary band for this position ranges from NZD 69,203 to NZD 103,805 annually (midpoint NZD 86,504). Typically, appointments will be made at or below the midpoint, depending on experience and qualifications.
