About the Role

Clarity Partners seeks a skilled Payroll Supervisor to join a specialized company in the Construction and Offshore industries based in Perth, Australia. Reporting directly to the Payroll Manager, you will lead the payroll team and manage daily payroll operations, ensuring employees receive accurate and timely payments every pay cycle. Your oversight will extend to payroll preparation, reconciliations, compliance adherence, and handling payroll inquiries. Additionally, you will provide training and guidance to the Payroll Officer and assist the Payroll Manager as needed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Accurately prepare and execute payrolls following relevant agreements, company policies, and processes, managing timesheets, expense claims, employee records, and leave documentation.
  • Manage processing of employee adjustments including advances, training wages, Injury Management payments, and other payroll-related disbursements.
  • Coordinate and review Electronic Funds Transfers (EFT) and international payment transfers.
  • Lead, supervise, and mentor the Payroll Officer by offering daily support and direction.
  • Perform reconciliations and reporting on net pay, PAYG taxation, superannuation contributions, including month-end payments and related reports.
  • Maintain accurate records of severance, annual and long service leave balances, and other payroll-related accruals and provisions.
  • Address payroll-related queries and resolve pay discrepancies by liaising with employees, internal departments, and external parties.
  • Support ad hoc payroll reports, conduct audits ensuring compliance with legislation, and keep payroll records updated and precise.
  • Serve as backup support to the Payroll Manager when required.

Candidate Profile

  • Proven experience in a payroll role with supervisory and staff training responsibilities.
  • Strong capability in interpreting and applying employee awards.
  • In-depth knowledge of payroll systems, taxation rules, and superannuation obligations.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Adobe, and payroll software systems.
  • Exceptional attention to accuracy, detail, and organizational aptitude.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively while efficiently managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for effective stakeholder engagement and payroll issue resolution.
  • Preferred qualifications include Year 12 English and Maths or a TAFE Business Studies certificate.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Salary range between 130000 and 140000 AUD per year plus superannuation.
