Overview
Travoom is looking for a Payroll Specialist to join their Canada-based remote team. This role involves managing payroll and financial workflows linked to destination management services across Italy and Mediterranean regions. Key focus areas include maintaining financial records, analyzing spreadsheets, ensuring confidentiality, and executing payroll-specific tasks with precision.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage payroll activities within the Canada workflow using destination-management reports from Italy and Mediterranean locations, conducting account reviews, and resolving exceptions to guarantee decision traceability.
- Evaluate incoming financial data, scrutinize documents, and generate financial reports to detect and correct incomplete or inconsistent information before advancing in the workflow.
- Monitor and track open payment actions, uphold accurate record maintenance, and handle specialized payroll operations while maintaining visibility on exceptions, accountability, and deadlines.
- Record decisions and handoff processes through thorough account and exception reviews ensuring seamless transition for subsequent team members without loss of historic data.
- Support quality assurance by reviewing documentation and financial reports, and escalate unresolved issues when handoff quality cannot be verified based on existing records.

Exemplary performance is achieved by ensuring payroll operations reinforce traceability of decisions, maintain robust exception tracking, uphold handoff integrity, assign clear ownership of outstanding tasks, and leave verifiable audit trails.
Fit and Qualifications
- Ability to handle incoming destination-management workflows involving Italy and Mediterranean reporting and manage exceptions effectively within a remote Canadian context.
- Strong written communication skills to document ownership, status updates, and next steps clearly during account and document reviews.
- Competence in applying financial reporting, payroll-specific execution, and relevant workflows such as Renata Travel DMC to keep records precise and up-to-date.
- Good judgment concerning payment tracking, record keeping, and escalation needs within the Canada workflow.
Additional Details
This is a full-time associate-level position, completely remote within Canada. The base salary ranges from $43,000 to $68,000 annually.
