Role Overview

The Payroll Specialist role is a full-time position based on-site in Tirana, Albania. This position is tasked with comprehensive payroll management, which includes gathering and validating payroll data, ensuring payroll runs are executed accurately and on schedule, and maintaining payroll records in compliance with local legal requirements. Daily responsibilities encompass managing payroll taxes, processing garnishments, collaborating with external payroll service providers as needed, and addressing employee questions concerning pay, deductions, and benefits.

The Payroll Specialist will work closely with Human Resources and Finance departments to reconcile payroll accounts, generate necessary reports, aid with audits, and drive improvements in payroll procedures. Staying informed about evolving payroll legislation and company policies is essential to maintain consistent, compliant payroll operations.

Qualifications

  • Proven expertise in payroll processing and administration covering the entire payroll lifecycle.
  • Strong understanding of payroll tax regulations and compliance with statutory reporting requirements.
  • Experience coordinating with external payroll service providers and working with payroll management software systems.
  • Ability to accurately and confidentially handle garnishments and other payroll deductions.
  • Educational background in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related fields, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Proficiency in payroll software applications and advanced skills in Microsoft Excel emphasizing accuracy and numerical precision.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills in English; knowledge of Albanian payroll laws is advantageous.
  • Capability to collaborate effectively across departments, safeguard confidential information, and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
