Job Overview

We are seeking a Payroll Specialist to assist with payroll processing for biweekly and monthly pay groups using Workday Payroll software. The role involves coordinating with various departments regarding compensation details for budgeting, ensuring compliance with payroll tax regulations, resolving benefits reconciliation discrepancies, troubleshooting Workday configuration issues, and managing the year-end W-2 and payroll close processes.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Process payroll on a biweekly and monthly basis within Workday Payroll system.
  • Update and maintain OnDemand payroll records after receiving management authorization.
  • Serve as the primary contact for employee payroll concerns such as payment issues or discrepancies.
  • Perform data entry related to payroll and benefits administration.
  • Manage correspondence related to withholding orders and non-tax communications from government agencies.
  • Generate ad hoc payroll reports and documentation for Finance, HR, and authorized personnel.
  • Conduct audits to verify payroll data accuracy.
  • Coordinate and communicate with third-party payroll partners as required.
  • Undertake additional duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Associate degree in business administration or a relevant business field is required.
  • Minimum of two years’ experience in payroll is preferred.
  • Experience working within PEO, HCM, or related industries required for remote applicants.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Familiarity with Workday Payroll software is advantageous.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to build collaborative relationships at all organizational levels.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality with sensitive information.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and accuracy skills.
  • Effective verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Ability to work autonomously and within collaborative teams.
  • Organizational aptitude and a proactive, positive attitude.
  • Adaptable to a dynamic, fast-paced environment with occasional flexible hours.

Compensation and Benefits

The wage range for this position is $24 to $26 per hour, depending on experience.
