Based in Sydney CBD with hybrid work arrangements (two days onsite weekly), the role involves processing fortnightly Australian payroll across two entities, utilizing ADP and NetSuite platforms, and gradually gaining exposure to global payroll operations. This position reports directly to the Payroll Manager and offers ample room to develop as our payroll team expands.
Key Responsibilities

- Ensure compliance with PAYG, superannuation (including uploads), Single Touch Payroll (STP), and workers' compensation legislation
- Operate two separate ADP systems for different entities and perform payroll data reconciliation and journal maintenance
- Investigate and rectify payroll discrepancies and assist with month-end closing and audit activities
- Leverage AI tools responsibly to enhance payroll efficiency while adhering to privacy and security policies
- Collaborate remotely with global payroll teams, working some mornings flexibly to overlap with international colleagues
- Coordinate with People & Culture and Finance departments, handling employee payroll inquiries with strong service orientation
- Gain exposure to payroll processes in additional jurisdictions, including Canada
- Participate in continual payroll process improvements and contribute to potential payroll system implementations
Candidate Profile
- Minimum two years hands-on experience using ADP for payroll processing
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, including functions like VLOOKUP and pivot tables, with enthusiasm for exploring AI tools
- Excellent communication skills capable of bridging cross-border teams and simplifying complex payroll concepts
- Highly self-motivated with strong prioritization skills to consistently meet deadlines
- Meticulous attention to detail ensuring accuracy in all payroll-related tasks
- Curious and eager to learn, aiming to broaden expertise beyond Australian payroll into global markets
- Flexible, detail-conscious, and ambitious to advance a professional payroll career
Employee Benefits
- Hybrid work environment with two days per week in the Sydney CBD office
- Competitive salary package including company stock options (RSUs)
- Five wellness days annually
- $1,000 annual flexible benefits budget and $500 yearly learning and development allowance
- Two paid volunteer leave days per year to support community causes
- Regular team lunches, events, and wellness programs
- Inclusive, collaborative culture fostering growth and diversity
- Opportunity to develop extensive payroll knowledge across several countries within a mission-driven tech company
Diversity and Inclusion
Our commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility is integral to our operation. We aim to create an organization reflecting the communities we serve and provide accommodations to ensure equitable recruitment experiences.
