Role Overview
We are seeking a Payroll Officer to join our expanding team. You will be responsible for managing comprehensive payroll processing for clients based in Australia, New Zealand, PNG, Fiji, and other regions. Acting as a trusted advisor and first contact for your clients, you will ensure payroll services are accurate, compliant, and delivered on time.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee end-to-end payroll cycles (weekly, fortnightly, monthly) for multiple client accounts
- Prepare, calculate, and execute wages, payslips, and payroll reports
- Conduct payroll reconciliations and manage employee payment processes
- Ensure all payroll activities comply with local laws and regulations, including ATO, superannuation, payroll tax, IRD, and others
- Handle all lodgements and payments such as superannuation contributions, payroll taxes, termination settlements, and leave balances
- Keep precise payroll and employee documentation
- Stay informed on changes to payroll legislation and regulations
- Participate in process enhancement initiatives and payroll projects
Client Management Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary contact point for clients and their employees regarding payroll matters
- Maintain strong and positive client relationships
- Respond promptly and effectively to payroll inquiries
- Work collaboratively with internal teams to ensure excellent service delivery
Continuous Learning
- Remain current on payroll regulations and developments in the industry
- Gain comprehensive knowledge of Polyglot’s offerings and global business operations
Candidate Profile
- Prior experience in payroll is advantageous but not mandatory
- Well-versed in accounting or bookkeeping fundamentals
- Meticulous attention to detail paired with strong analytical skills
- Excellent organizational abilities and efficient time management
- Strong communication skills and client-oriented mindset
- Ability to manage competing tasks in a dynamic environment
- Experience with DataCom payroll software is beneficial
- Fluency in English required; fluency in additional languages is a bonus
