Job description
Overview
We are seeking a Payroll Officer to manage end-to-end Canadian payroll processes in a fast-paced, high-volume setting. This role involves verifying payroll accuracy, performing necessary adjustments, and handling reconciliations and Record of Employment (ROE) issuance.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute full-cycle payroll processing for Canadian employees.
- Audit payroll data for correctness and implement adjustments and reconciliations as required.
- Respond promptly to payroll-related questions and resolve any discrepancies.
- Maintain compliance with the applicable Canadian payroll laws including CPP, EI, income tax, WSIB, and ROE regulations.
- Support payroll-related reporting, reconciliation, and accounting tasks.
- Assist with Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable duties when necessary.
Qualifications and Skills
- Minimum of three years experience processing full-cycle Canadian payroll.
- In-depth knowledge of payroll legislation including CPP, EI, income tax, WSIB, and Record of Employment administration.
- Familiarity with payroll platforms such as Dayforce, ADP, Workday, UKG, SAP, or equivalent.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
- High attention to detail paired with strong communication abilities.
Compensation
The pay rate ranges from $35 to $36 per hour.
