About the Role
Join a reputable and supportive accountancy firm in Beverley as a Payroll Officer, where you will be entrusted with managing diverse payroll processes for a range of clients. This permanent full-time position offers a salary between £35,000 and £40,000 and an opportunity to strengthen your payroll expertise while cultivating enduring client relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle payroll cycles including weekly, fortnightly, four-weekly, and monthly for various clients.
- Manage both straightforward and intricate payroll needs effectively.
- Assist in onboarding new clients and setting up their payroll systems.
- Maintain precise payroll and employee documentation.
- Process statutory payments such as Statutory Sick Pay (SSP), Statutory Maternity Pay (SMP), and Statutory Paternity Pay (SPP).
- Oversee RTI submissions, issue P45s, and ensure compliance with auto-enrolment pension schemes.
- Provide support for Construction Industry Scheme requirements when applicable.
- Generate comprehensive payroll reports and management information for clients.
- Address client queries with professionalism and responsiveness.
- Foster strong relationships with clients and internal team members.
- Ensure timely and accurate completion of payroll tasks within agreed deadlines.
Candidate Requirements
- Minimum two years experience in payroll management from start to finish.
- Proven skills in payroll administration and report generation.
- Solid understanding of UK payroll legislation including RTI, SSP, SMP, SPP, P45, and pension auto-enrolment.
- Familiarity with payroll software such as Sage, BrightPay, and Xero.
- Excellent client service and communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational competencies.
- Ability to work autonomously and prioritize competing deadlines.
- Positive, eager to learn, and committed to delivering exceptional client services.
