Payroll Lead

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Payroll Lead based in South Dublin to oversee the payroll operations, guiding a team of two. The role centers on managing payroll with an emphasis on automation, process optimizations, advanced reporting, and leveraging artificial intelligence tools such as EuroPay and Excel.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer comprehensive payroll functions for Ireland and the UK ensuring accuracy and compliance.
• Lead and mentor the payroll team to uphold high performance standards.
• Review payroll submissions and address any discrepancies or queries promptly.
• Collaborate closely with departments including HR, Finance, Operations, and IT for seamless payroll integration.
• Oversee payroll reporting, reconciliations, and month-end activities.
• Champion initiatives around automation, process streamlining, and payroll system enhancements.
• Maintain rigorous internal controls and governance related to payroll practices.
• Manage relationships with outsourced payroll and system vendors.
• Support audit processes and ensure ongoing compliance with legislative requirements.
• Create detailed payroll reports and analyses to inform business decisions.
• Continuously pursue improvements in payroll procedures and technologies.

Candidate Requirements

• Proven significant payroll experience within Ireland, with advantageous exposure to UK payroll regulations.
• Experience in supervising or leading payroll teams.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel alongside payroll software expertise, preferably EuroPay.
• Strong analytical capabilities related to payroll processing, HR reporting, general ledger (GL), and month-end closing.
• Demonstrated success with automation projects and process enhancements.
• Ability to effectively partner with IT on AI integration and system improvement initiatives.
• Detail-oriented with a practical, hands-on approach.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
