About the Role
AES Restaurant Group is looking for a detail-focused and driven Payroll Specialist to join our corporate team at Zionsville, Indiana. The ideal candidate should possess payroll experience, exceptional accuracy, and the ability to handle payroll processing within tight deadlines while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage payroll transactions to ensure timely and precise processing.
- Coordinate payroll operations including processing, reporting, and record keeping.
- Ensure timely and accurate payroll processing for over 500 employees.
- Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour regulations.
- Safeguard confidentiality and security of payroll data.
- Update documentation related to payroll procedures and controls.
- Collaborate with Human Resources to handle payroll changes such as new hires, terminations, and salary adjustments.
- Manage electronic payments and distribution of payroll checks.
- Verify payroll data accuracy and ensure completion of all required documentation.
- Process additional compensations and deductions including bonuses, garnishments, child support, and off-cycle payrolls.
- Generate payroll reports for management as required.
- Address employee inquiries regarding payroll, wages, and payments.
- Assist with audits and requests from external authorities concerning payroll.
- Maintain precise payroll records and perform necessary data entries.
- Ensure payroll accuracy through wage calculations, error resolution, and report reviews.
- Produce and analyze detailed payroll reports.
Experience & Skills
- At least 2 years of experience in payroll preferred, with multi-state payroll processing strongly favored.
- Solid knowledge of payroll best practices and federal/multi-state payroll laws.
- Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Excel features like VLOOKUP and pivot tables.
- Familiarity with payroll systems such as RTI, ProLiant, or TalentReef is advantageous.
- Meticulous attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Capability to manage confidential and sensitive information with the utmost professionalism.
- Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
- Ability to meet stringent deadlines and manage time efficiently.
- Analytical problem-solving skills and ability to collaborate effectively within a team setting.
