About the Role

Join the National Finance team based in Western Sydney as a Payroll Consultant responsible for managing all payroll transactions, employee payments, compliance, and vendor payments. Your core duty will involve executing end-to-end payroll processes to ensure accurate and timely salary disbursements for over 1,300 employees monthly, while adhering to internal service level agreements.

Team Overview

The National Finance team consists of approximately 20 accounting and technical professionals based in Parramatta, supporting firm-wide administrative functions including payroll services, treasury, and accounting operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage employee transactional payroll and related processes ensuring correct and punctual payments.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to resolve payroll queries within established service standards.
  • Maintain compliance with Australian taxation laws and local state or territory legislation.
  • Perform payroll reconciliations and reporting.
  • Investigate payroll issues, analyze root causes, propose corrective actions, and prevent recurrence.

Candidate Profile

  • At least three years of comprehensive Australian payroll experience in professional services or corporate settings.
  • Thorough knowledge of taxation and local legal requirements for payroll.
  • High attention to detail with excellent accuracy, particularly when handling sensitive and confidential information.
  • Proficient in data entry and intermediate skills in Excel and other computer applications.
  • Effective prioritization to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication capabilities.
  • Customer-service oriented with the ability to work autonomously or collaboratively within teams.
