About the Role
Join SAP's People & Culture Global Service Delivery Organization as a Payroll Consultant supporting payroll operations for Ireland and the UK. You'll play a critical role ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing while adhering to local tax regulations, working closely with internal and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the processing of Irish and UK payrolls ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Review payroll data to identify and resolve discrepancies.
- Support accurate postings of payroll to the general ledger.
- Maintain compliance with local payroll tax, Social Insurance, pensions, and statutory leave regulations.
- Keep payroll documentation, procedures, and control frameworks up to date.
- Stay informed on legislative and regulatory changes affecting payroll practices.
- Monitor, escalate, and support resolution of payroll issues.
- Assist with wage reporting, tax filing, and year-end regulatory activities.
- Respond to routine payroll queries from employees and internal teams.
- Support payroll system updates, testing, and process improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to facilitate smooth payroll operations and meet deadlines.
Experience and Skills
- 1 to 3+ years experience in Irish payroll processing; UK payroll experience preferred but not mandatory.
- Working knowledge of Irish and UK payroll tax regulations and compliance.
- Experience with SAP HCM IPP or equivalent payroll software advantageous.
- Familiarity or interest in payroll projects, transformation, and AI applications in payroll is a plus.
Qualifications and Competencies
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, HR, Finance, or related field preferred, or comparable payroll experience or certification (e.g., iPass or CIPP).
- Strong attention to detail with eagerness to learn.
- Excellent customer service, communication, and organizational skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to thrive in a team-based, fast-paced environment managing multiple tasks.
