Role Summary
The Pastry Chef de Partie will be a vital member of the kitchen team working specifically in the pastry section. Responsibilities include preparing a variety of classic and innovative Italian desserts from scratch, such as giant lemon pies and homemade gelato. The role involves mentoring new chefs, providing team guidance, collaborating with kitchen management, and ensuring the pastry area maintains high standards of cleanliness, safety, and organization.
Responsibilities
- Join the dynamic kitchen team at Big Mamma and contribute to an outstanding culinary experience.
- Produce delicious Italian desserts freshly made from original recipes, including notable dishes like giant lemon pie and house-made gelato.
- Lead and train junior pastry chefs, offering support and coaching to enhance team performance.
- Work directly with kitchen management to guarantee the pastry section operates smoothly and efficiently.
- Maintain strict adherence to health, safety, and hygiene standards within the kitchen environment.
- Exude a positive and professional demeanor, fostering a warm atmosphere for customers and colleagues alike.
Requirements and Skills
- Genuine passion and enthusiasm for Italian cuisine with a warm, friendly attitude.
- Energetic and proactive mindset with strong team collaboration skills.
- Proven leadership skills, excellent communication, and ability to work well within a team.
- Specialized expertise in Italian pastries and dessert preparation techniques.
- Previous experience managing a pastry team in a restaurant setting.
- Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
