Job description

Role Overview

The Partnerships Coordinator plays an essential role within the Mission Ready partnerships team, reporting to the Partnerships Manager. This position bridges candidate success and industry engagement by facilitating candidate placements into work experience and employment, supporting their job search after graduation, and organizing quarterly community events to enhance the Mission Ready brand and add value for participants.

Key Duties

  • Identify and secure work experience and employment opportunities for Mission Ready candidates.
  • Assist the Partnerships Manager in maintaining and expanding relationships with industry partners and Mission Sponsors.
  • Manage the full candidate–employer matchmaking process from vacancy identification to placement confirmation and ongoing follow-up.
  • Support mentoring program onboarding and briefing for Mission Sponsors.
  • Keep detailed records on placements and employment statuses in the candidate database.
  • Conduct follow-ups post-placement to ensure satisfaction from both employers and candidates.
  • Work directly with candidates post-experience to assist their job search efforts.
  • Provide guidance with CV crafting, LinkedIn profile optimization, interview preparation, and employer contacts.
  • Plan and deliver quarterly events including career expos, networking opportunities, employer panels, and alumni showcases.
  • Maintain an up-to-date and accurate candidate and employer database.

Candidate Profile

  • 1 to 2 years experience in coordination, account management, recruitment, or community engagement roles.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively build rapport with candidates, employers, and partners.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail, managing multiple tasks concurrently.
  • Comfortable organizing and executing both virtual and in-person events.
  • Proficient with databases and capable of generating clear, concise reports.
  • Passionate about personal development and career advancement for others.
  • Experience working with diverse populations is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with tertiary education or training sectors is beneficial but not essential.
  • Knowledge of the technology or IT industry is a plus.
  • Applicants must have New Zealand residency, citizenship, or a valid work visa.
