Job description

About the Role

Join our on-call team as a Back-Up Nanny, providing care to multiple families in the Mountlake Terrace area. This role is perfect for individuals who have experience as babysitters, daycare workers, nannies, retired teachers, or volunteers seeking flexible part-time work that fits around other commitments like school or family. Emphasizing creativity, engagement, and flexibility, you will provide in-home childcare focusing on safety and age-appropriate interaction, particularly for infants and toddlers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Offer attentive childcare within family homes without the responsibility of transporting children.
  • Perform light clean-up related to activities or meal times with children, with no additional household chores expected.
  • Deliver supportive care focusing on infants and toddlers, responding to the developmental needs of children under age two.
  • Engage children through interactive, hands-on activities tailored to their age and interests.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Hourly pay ranging from $22 to $25 per hour.
  • Paid training and a nanny kit equipped with age-appropriate games and educational materials for childcare sessions.
  • Opportunities for career advancement within childcare and priority consideration for consistent nanny placements, either full or part-time.
  • Paid sick leave available for both part-time and full-time schedules.
  • Additional benefits for full-time workers include a medical stipend, paid vacation, paid holidays, student loan repayment matching, and retirement savings matching.
  • Potential for mileage reimbursement, bonuses based on positive feedback, and participation in contests and community events for support and networking.
  • Employment is legal with W-2 status, including unemployment insurance, supporting resume building.

Candidate Profile

  • Minimum age of 18 years.
  • Experience working with children, either paid or voluntary, is required; infant care experience is mandatory.
  • Reliable transportation to travel among various family homes in the area.
  • Availability to work at least three weekdays per week for 6 to 8-hour shifts between 7 AM and 7 PM.
  • Strong communication skills with the staffing team and a positive, courteous demeanor when interacting with families.
