About the Role
Join Purolator Inc., Canada's foremost integrated freight, package, and logistics company, with a rich legacy of over 60 years ensuring vital deliveries. As a Courier Utility, your efforts will be central to fulfilling daily delivery promises within your community.
Working Hours and Location
This is a part-time position based onsite at 67 Powers Road, Grand Falls, New Brunswick. The schedule involves various shifts assigned from Sunday through Saturday, totaling approximately 40 hours each week.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Pick up and deliver packages according to daily schedules.
- Utilize package scanners to track parcels during receipt, delivery, or return processes.
- Collaborate with Dispatch and customers for problem resolution encountered during routes.
- Perform thorough vehicle inspections before and after shifts using electronic Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports.
- Report any vehicle inspection failures promptly to the unit manager.
- Fill in for absent couriers across different shifts as needed.
Qualifications and Experience
- Completion of high school education.
- Vocational or business courses typically provided during high school are advantageous.
- Possession of a valid Class 5 driver's license with a clean driving record is mandatory.
Physical and Mental Requirements
- Engage in physically demanding tasks, including lifting or lowering packages up to 70 pounds.
- Ability to sit, stand, and climb during work shifts.
- Maintain focused attention for prolonged periods, especially while driving.
- Demonstrate problem-solving skills and handle potentially confrontational interactions professionally.
