About the Role and Team
Our Group Benefits division aims to deliver an effortless and impactful experience to clients by supporting plan sponsors and members that strengthen Canadian organizations' health. The Admin Advantage team integrates people, technology, and expertise to streamline group benefits administration, ensuring a reliable and exceptional experience for members and clients.
This dynamic team environment is fast-paced and adaptable, encouraging innovation and new ideas. We are seeking a motivated Payroll Specialist (also known as PAD & Payroll Specialist) to join our ranks—someone passionate about fostering strong relationships and managing initiatives in a varied work environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer payroll files, including setting up systems, scheduling and coordinating file runs, meticulously checking file quality, distributing files to clients, and responding to related queries.
- Oversee pre-authorized debit (PAD) files by running queries to identify members needing PAD, compiling PAD files with member premiums, uploading PAD files into the treasury system, and addressing questions concerning PAD transactions.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of customized payroll and PAD processes specific to assigned clients.
- Act as the subject matter expert during client meetings regarding payroll and PAD file inquiries.
Required Experience and Skills
- Background in the financial sector with specific experience in Group Benefits.
- Prior work experience involving payroll operations or payroll file management.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and the capacity to quickly learn new software applications and tools.
Preferred Qualities and Additional Qualifications
- A client-centric approach with dedication to placing customer needs at the forefront of decisions.
- Highly effective communication abilities, both written and oral, alongside strong negotiation and collaboration skills.
- Proactive problem-solving capabilities characterized by sound judgment, innovation, and perseverance in uncertain scenarios.
- Flexibility and resilience when managing changes, conflicting priorities, and complex situations with professionalism.
- A cooperative and team-focused attitude that values colleagues’ contributions and promotes a positive team spirit.
- A commitment to operational excellence, delivering high-quality work punctually with full responsibility ownership.
- Continuous learning mindset, driven by curiosity, rapid comprehension of new ideas, and eagerness to enhance existing processes.
- Bilingualism (English and French) is advantageous; in Québec, fluency in both languages is required to support a multi-provincial client base.
What We Offer
- The opportunity to grow and develop your career within a supportive environment.
- A flexible workplace prioritizing employee well-being and inclusivity beyond just rhetoric.
- Engagement in a global organization supporting employees in shaping their professional futures.
