Packing Operator

About the Role

Join Open Country Dairy, New Zealand's second-largest dairy manufacturer, as a Packing Operator based in Whanganui. In this role, you will be essential in ensuring our milk powder products are packed, stored, and dispatched safely, efficiently, and in compliance with the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate and supervise powder packing machinery, palletising systems, and dry store operations.
• Maintain product quality while adhering to strict food safety standards.
• Complete production and dispatch documentation with precision.
• Load, unload, and transport products and materials as needed.
• Support the storage of ingredients and packaging components.
• Uphold excellent housekeeping and hygiene practices.
• Identify and communicate opportunities for process improvements and report operational challenges.
• Promote a safety-focused workplace culture.

Candidate Profile

• Prior experience in manufacturing, food production, processing, or warehouse environments preferred.
• Strong dedication to health, safety, and quality compliance.
• Good problem-solving abilities coupled with mechanical skills.
• Basic computer skills and attention to accurate record-keeping.
• Demonstrated positive attitude and eagerness to learn.
• Effective communication and teamwork capabilities.
• Forklift experience or a current forklift license is an advantage.
• Dairy manufacturing or powder packing experience is desirable.
