About the Company

A globally recognized leader in nutritional products is seeking a Packaging Quality Specialist to join their International Supplier Quality team for a two-year contract. This organization is known for its dedication to quality, safety, and innovation, producing premium nutrition products that cater from infancy through adulthood.

Role Overview

The Packaging Quality Specialist plays a vital role in guaranteeing that packaging materials and suppliers consistently uphold top-tier quality, compliance, and food safety standards. The role is highly collaborative and involves hands-on work with manufacturing, quality, engineering, supply chain, and supplier partners to enhance packaging quality and implement continuous improvements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee supplier quality performance, approvals, and ongoing compliance.
  • Investigate quality concerns related to packaging and materials, enforcing corrective and preventive measures.
  • Support supplier audits, risk evaluations, and quality enhancement programs.
  • Collaborate with internal and external teams to boost supplier capabilities and packaging outcomes.
  • Assist with packaging validation, supplier qualification, and management of changes.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives within packaging and quality processes.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with both suppliers and cross-functional teams locally and internationally.

Required Qualifications and Skills

  • A degree in Food Technology, Food Science, Engineering, Materials Engineering, or a related field.
  • Between three to five years of experience in FMCG, food manufacturing, packaging, supplier quality, or quality assurance.
  • Hands-on experience with packaging materials, packaging operations, or packaging suppliers.
  • Proven skills in quality issue investigation, root-cause analysis, and implementing corrective actions.
  • Familiarity with supplier audits, quality management systems, compliance initiatives, and continuous improvement practices.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to engage with stakeholders effectively.
  • Collaborative mindset with the ability to develop effective working relationships across diverse teams.
  • Willingness to travel within New Zealand as necessary.
