Packaging Engineer

About the Role

Based in Cork, Ireland, this opportunity involves working with a global leader in food product manufacturing who is investing in a cutting-edge production facility. This role centers on supporting a flagship greenfield project to deliver and start up a next-generation production site, combining innovation, advanced technology, and top-tier engineering.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide support during the installation, integration, commissioning, and qualification stages of aseptic and ESL filling systems, ensuring all start-up activities comply with safety and regulatory standards.
• Work closely with teams from Operations, Quality, Maintenance, external EPCM partners, and Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) to implement packaging systems that meet project specifications.
• Assist in troubleshooting, conduct performance testing, prepare necessary documentation, and contribute to operational readiness to guarantee a smooth transition to production teams.

Qualifications and Experience

• Demonstrated extensive engineering background within food, beverage, dairy, pharmaceutical, or nutritional product manufacturing sectors.
• Proven leadership in managing CAPEX investments or industrial projects, especially greenfield or brownfield developments.
• Sound experience and understanding of aseptic or ESL filling technologies and high-hygiene packaging systems.
• Experience in coordinating cross-functional teams alongside external engineering partners.
• Possession of Sherpa qualification is preferred.
