Role Overview
The Packager at Castool, located in Uxbridge, Ontario, is a full-time, on-site role. The primary responsibility involves preparing goods for dispatch by carefully packaging items following established guidelines to ensure protection and correct labeling. Daily duties include confirming quantities against sales orders, assembling necessary packaging components, and organizing finished products in assigned areas. Maintaining cleanliness and safety within the workspace, complying with health and safety regulations, and working closely with production and shipping teams to meet delivery schedules are also essential.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Hands-on capability in packaging including preparing, wrapping, and securing items for shipment.
- Knowledge and experience in packaging using wooden crates, including understanding specifications and improvement opportunities.
- Quality assurance skills to help identify enhanced packaging materials, methods, or processes when needed.
- Strong attention to detail for accurate labeling, documentation, and verifying orders.
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods and safely lift and move materials in accordance with ergonomic and safety standards.
- Good communication and teamwork skills for effective coordination with production and shipping staff.
- Prior experience in manufacturing, warehousing, or packaging roles is advantageous.
- A motivation to grow within the role and build a career.
